Mary Ann grew up in the Northeastern corner of Alabama. Her father was in the construction business. Her mother was at home with 3 children until Mary An's high school years. She then went to work for an aluminium plant in Scottsboro and worked sas an inside salesperson until her retirement.
Mary Ann's husband Paul and she met and married in college. He is from the same area. HIs father pastored a church in Plant City, Florida, during Paul's high school and college years. After he graduated from pharmacy school, they moved do South Central Florida where they spent the first 12 years of their marriage.
Paul & Mary Ann have two children, Mathew & Emily. Emily graduated in 2000 from the University of Montevallo. Mathew graduated from University of Alabama in Birmingam and now lives in Birmingam.
As a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mary Ann has served in several leadership rolls, including the Adminstrative Board & the Board of Trustees. She has also worked actively with the State & Local Board of Realtors serving as local President & chaired several commissions at a state and local level. Mary Ann works with the Corporate Foundation for Children which provides grants for child abuse prevention agencies throughout Alabama. Mary Ann currently serves on the Board of Directors for RBC bank as well as the Executive Committee for the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce.
Mary Ann also enjoys spending time at a family lake house on Smith Lake.
